The first few images I saw from this collection were black and white, being a lover of monochrome I was rather excited to see the rest of the collection. The more I saw the colour pallette develop the more I liked the collection. First to be introduced (on style.com, this may have been different in the show) was the fleshy beige colour and neutral beige (pantone 33-7) that features most prominently, this colour gave warmth to the monochromatic palette and made me intrigued to know what colour may come next. I was pleasantly suprised to see the baby blue (pantone 212-7) it was fresh and light and really stood out against the blacks, this was shortly followed by a lovely deep royal blue (pantone 191-2) which, although not normally seen alongside black, really complimented it. The penultimate colour Lim introduced to his colour palette was the tan colour (pantone 316-4) of the leather which reminded me of oozing caramel and toffee sauce, very rich and delicious, perfectly complimented by the vanilla ice-cream beige.
The final colour in the palette is probably my favourite, I hope it looks as good in real life as it does in the photographs. To me it is the perfect grey, slightly silver, slightly lilac with a tiniest hint of cream. I love this colour it is crisp, sauve and would suit any skin tone.
The textures Lim used to liven the collection were not to my personal taste but they did add another dimension to the designs, making them very touchable and seductive. I just want to stroke my hand across them to see what the fabric feels like.
The clothes look comfortable and relaxed, like you could wear them all day without feeling irritated by them (well maybe not the leather items).
The designs were largely traditional and many of the jackets reminded me of military coats. There was an abundance of unusual necklines ranging from collarless jackets to v-neck waistcoats.
Over-all I really like this collection, the colour palette is unusual with a mixture of warm and cool shades, the textures are intrigueing and the designs are contemporary and stylish.
